The HCG Diet Plan Is A Hot Topic Of Conversation For Many People

By Riley T. Simonis

The HCG diet is a low-calorie diet aided by supplemental drops. The body begins to burn stored fat when it uses up the day's calorie intake; a process which occurs faster with a low-calorie diet. The supplements used in the diet help to maintain muscle mass and burn only fat where a low-calorie diet alone might affect muscles before fat is burned. HCG drops assist in easing any negative side effects, such as irritability or fatigue normally associated with low-calorie diets. The body's system of fat management, including the use of calorie intake, is reorganized with the HCG diet. The implication phase, the training of the metabolism and the maintenance phase are the three stages used in the special diet plan.

During days one and two of the special diet, a high calorie diet is suggested during the initial intake of the HCG drops. The body's fat regulation system is altered in this initial phase to help ensure that, during the lower calorie intake part of the diet, the metabolism will burn fat. The period of low-calorie intake in the diet is aided by the initial high-calorie phase as it reduces excess hunger throughout the diet process. The special diet's second step, consisting of low-calorie intake, forces the body to burn excess fat when the daily calories are used up as a fuel source.

Once the drops have triggered the body's metabolism to restructure as a fat-burning machine, the maintenance part of the diet begins. The use of the formula is no longer necessary and calorie intake can begin returning to a normal level during the maintenance phase of the special diet.

The increase in calorie intake should be conducted slowly as the restructured fat-handling process adjusts to a higher calorie intake. During the maintenance phase of the diet, weight needs to be monitored closely to confirm that the body's restructured metabolism is preserved throughout the calorie increase.

Only light exercise is recommended during the diet plan because of the low-calorie intake. Because there are fewer calories used for energy, strenuous exercise could cause starvation and fatigue as the calories are used sooner. There are no known side effects of the plan and the hormones in the drops will not cause any interference with menstrual cycles. Pregnant women are not advised to use the diet, as they are likely to see little to no results because of higher calorie intakes necessary for nourishment during pregnancy.
