Knowing The Main Difference Between Diets That Do And Do Not Work

By Penelope Bickle

Many of us, including myself, have gone through this same scenario at least once in their lives: we want to lose weight, so we begin reading about diets trying to find out which one is best.

Yet we see so many contradicting views that we're utterly lost. This makes it quite hard to actually take action and begin doing the things should be done.

There are hundreds of diets currently available online, and a lot of of them will try to push you to just eat certain products, whilst simultaneously telling you to avoid eating this or that.

This is an entirely wrong approach, however individuals will still purchase into it simply because it's very simple and takes all the work out of the procedure.

I said earlier that all diet plans work, as long as you follow a certain rule.
The rule is that you have to consume less calories than your body burns. There's no single diet plan in the world that will make you lose weight if you do not follow this rule.

Say there's a diet regime that says you should just consume 5 products (I'm making this up right now only for the sake of the argument, yet bare with me): chicken, cottage cheese, veggies and eggs.

The author of the diet guarantees that as long as you follow these 5 products only, you are going to lose weight.

You start looking at feedbacks with regards to the diet, and you look for a few people who truly managed to drop bodyweight on it. Heck, you might even have a close friend who was able to accomplish just that with this certain diet program.

After a couple of extra minutes of research, however, it happens that there are several individuals who never managed to lose only one pound, and maybe also gained weight on that diet program! Exactly how is that possible?

Some individuals were consuming much more calories than their body burns on that diet, whilst others were eating less than their body burns. The latter group is the one that loses excess weight.

Unfortunately, because diet authors almost never get into detail about this critical point, it gets a hit and miss for most people - they just eat the 5 products in the list often and hope that this will let them to lose weight in and by itself. Some will get lucky and eat less calories than they burn and thus drop some fat.

Others will not be so fortunate.
